The city as a landscape
Last week, De Urbanisten were invited by Vogelbescherming Nederland to talk with their urban bird advisors and by the International Conference "PISA 2050’’ to present our design approach with water and how we are creating livable cities for the changing climate of the future.
Many species have already adapted to living in the city, but we should consciously design nature-inclusive to protect and improve their habitat. It was inspiring to converse openly about the requirements of a landscape in which not only humans should feel at home.
De Urbanisten was also invited to the International Conference "PISA 2050. The city of Pisa is currently facing a strategic plan, which for the first time, addresses the green-blue weave of the city. Lorenzo was delighted to present two of our most significant projects, Benthemplein and Keilehaven, to inspire Pisa to rethink public space in terms of climate adaptation and the urban fabric in relation to the Arno.
