Tidal Park Keilehaven has been nominated for the Rotterdam Architecture Prize 2025!

Tidal Park Keilehaven is a unique urban park in Rotterdam that reintroduces a natural estuarine system into the city. It creates a dynamic public space shaped by tidal movements—areas are accessible at low tide and submerged at high tide, offering a constantly changing nature experience. The park balances cultural elements with spontaneous natural processes and supports biodiversity through a variety of wet and dry zones and deep and shallow water levels, attracting diverse flora and fauna. It is part of the citywide “River as a Tidal Park” strategy to strengthen the river as an ecological infrastructure.
Keilehaven was built using reused materials like quay stones and cobblestones, along with innovative vegetation techniques. It shows how cities can bring nature back into urban areas, boost ecological resilience, and create sustainable public spaces for both people and animals.

If Tidal Park Keilehaven inspires you, please cast your vote before May 9 to help it win the RAP Audience Award.
